Today we are talking about passion.

Passion. Passion for your brand, your product, what you’re doing.  Passion is the secret sauce behind all of it. Having a passionate founder and CEO is immensely important. Let me tell you why I am passionate about passion…

Let’s go back to my early days of business when I was out raising funds for the first time and I had no clue what I was doing. Reflecting on that time, it was a true miracle that we secured our first round of funding.  What stuck out to me from that time was the fact that I approached this first investor with an idea, just an idea. I did not have a manufactured product, not even a prototype.  My passion for this product was so tangible that he invested $1 Million to help me bring this product to life. Now, this is not normal. Let me repeat, this is not likely to happen 99.9% of the time.  After we secured the funding, the investor came back to me to tell me more about his why behind his decision to support me. My passion was contagious and he just wanted to be part of it.

If you don’t have passion… you might need

to choose a different road.

Passion is important for entrepreneurs in many ways – not just in securing funding but also in selling your product. In my early days with Primal, after we created the product we then had to sell it. I was so confident in my passion for the product that I knew if I could get in front of you, I would close the sale because my passion was so visible, effortless, and pure.  Things got a bit tricky when I had to relay that passion on to digital formats, but that’s a conversation for a different day.

If you don’t have passion, if that’s not what is getting you out of bed because you are so excited to get your idea, product, or service out to the world, you might need to choose a different road. Every day, I wake up because I passionately believe in what we are doing at DRAFTR. I am so excited about it every day.  People often ask me about my hobbies and my downtime.  Don’t get me wrong, you’ll have days and moments where there is downtime but if you don’t feel that passion on a daily basis.

I challenge you to take a look at how passion has made a difference for you and your business. How is the presence or absence of passion affecting your success?  Do something today to spread your passion to others because it’s contagious.
